I see lot of people using the argument "code should be self-explanatory so you don't need comments".
But even if the code is clear and self-explanatory, isnt it still faster for people to read plain english?
- falcolas 10y agoNot always. Plain english is quit inexact and relies on a lot of implicit context to convey exact meaning (just ask Lawyers).
- marxidad 10y agoIdeally, the code should read as close to plain English as possible. There's still a trade-off between specifying it in one place and synchronizing two pieces of text so that they basically say the same thing.
