As someone who uses NixOS now and then, I disagree with you. Right now, NixOS itself is for expert users. The installation itself will be problematic for non expert users.
- aangjie 10y agoI can second that, I've tried installing it a couple of times and gave up after some driver/hardware issue. I like the idea, and the virtualbox environment works without any problems.
- xaduha 10y agoI'm probably past a point where I can look at things from beginner perspective and I also don't use graphic mode, so for me it was pretty straightforward, especially when using EFI boot. One thing I never configured before was wireless in Linux. In NixOS it was pretty much a couple of lines in config files, after that it 'just worked'.
