When will US legislators take comprehensive election reform seriously?
This election cycle is wearing me out. All my life, I've supported various third party candidates. I'm so tired of tactical voting being the norm. I'm tired of being told that voting for who I believe in would be treason. I know that I'm an intelligent, resourceful, compassionate, earnest human being with good judgement.
Time and time again, I feel like my political outlook is tossed in the garbage.
People have been asking for all kinds of election reform for years. Why is election reform considered to be such a "wacky" idea?
I'm terrified at the notion that Hillary Clinton might become president, only for people to kick the election reform can further down the road.
This political situation is toxic. We can't even have conversations about important issues. I'm so sick of the propaganda. I'm tired. I can't even listen to NPR most days, because the election discussions are totally base and out of touch with the real issues people are grappling with.
The fact that all of this is happening right now, one month ahead of the election, and all I hear about election reform is crickets...
That feels dismal.
