I didn't see much in there that explained the pro systemd side! Characterising the mere existence of an external HTTP gateway to systemd (and other components) as a "staggeringly WTF" mistake made by the systemd team is at best unreasonable. That's like saying sysvinit sucks because Webmin exists.
