Why they want to drop NPAPI?
- ozten 10y agoMy guess would be that a large portion of FF crashes are from NPAPI plugins. PDF.js and Shumway were early attempts to provide alternatives that could eliminate needing these popular plugins.
- petecox 10y agoBecause it's too much effort to port to Servo and they'd rather piggyback on Chrome's plugin efforts?
- dblohm7 10y agoNo, it is because NPAPI is a stability and performance nightmare. No sane person in 2016 would want to port it to Servo or anything else.
