Where would you keep that short term reserve? Cash under your mattress?
- tcoppi 10y agoWherever you want. I'd recommend a firesafe bolted to your foundation slab, but that's just me. I'm not saying to keep a lot your short-term reserves in cash, or even necessarily more than just enough to buy yourself food for a day or two, but you also shouldn't rely on always being able to get money out of an ATM or that the global payment remittance systems will work in a true emergency, either.
