I was shocked when I read this a while back. I'm surprised they haven't changed the interface at least once. McLaren knows the full specification of the interface, has gobs of engineering talent, and customers that wouldn't bat an eye at tens of thousands of dollars in "upgrade costs" to maintain their cars. It seems like something that would be right in their wheelhouse.
