Ask HN: Where to get a tech / programming job?
I know this is a very broad question, but I'm wondering if there's a common place for self-taught programmers to post their résumé? I'm 30 and have taught myself how to develop and design a JS / PHP / CSS web app, however I don't have formal schooling and usually don't meet all the pre-reqs I see on job postings. I know I'm capable of learning and being an effective worker, so I'm wondering if there's some site where I can show people why I'm worth taking a chance on.

Because you have no professional experience, you will probably find more success applying for internship or junior positions. Even if they are not paid, you can easily leverage them to get a different job after some time. In the meantime, practice by creating side-projects and putting them on your github. Try to commit often and try many types of tech. Maybe even contribute to open source projects. Employers seeing your commitment and scope of knowledge on github will go miles to getting you an interview.
