Re: statistics, it would be interesting if someone groomed a dataset like crunchbase to start to answer certain questions about tech startups with actual numbers. What is the success rate of companies started in year X that were tagged as "disruptive"? You could answer other questions like the likely hood of various exit types given certain starting conditions. Huge challenge making sure the data is relatively comprehensive, even just for tech, but would be cool.
