Ask HN: Would You Use a CLI-Based SaaS Store/Marketplace?

There are all kinds of useful utilities for which a GUI seems like a distraction, yet there seems to be no app-store-like delivery and monetization system for such software. I imagine a marketplace of cloud services where the data remains local; the cli functionality (script) is downloaded and run on demand or installed. Either way, actually running the cli would require payment, either per-use or by a flat rate subscription. This solves the update problem with the desktop app model, since any new versions of the cli script can be made immediately available by the author. On further thought, I think NPM can be the foundation for such a marketplace.
