I have serious reservations about IBM's involvement in Swift. I spoke with someone very high up in the Sun organization once who said IBM was the worst thing to happen to the JDK. Which is saying something since IBM wrote most of the JDK. IBM seems to make a mess of everything they touch. I really wish Apple had taken a "Thanks but no thanks" stance when approached by IBM.
