Probably 90% of my purchases are through Amazon (mostly through laziness); according to my Amazon history (which you can download, it's fun to play with the data), I've had 1,018 deliveries over the last 17 years. I literally can't think of more than maybe 1 or 2 in all that time that have ever been damaged.
