Many disagreements arise out of people misinterpreting the tone of emails and texts. Phone at least conveys voice tone. Face-to-face gives the whole shebang, including body language. I never have conversations on hazardous topics without at least a phone call, and then only if the other person is too remote to meet face-to-face.
