Question regarding "averting a Detroit outcome": What was SF (and SV) like after the Dotcom crash? I was in high school at the time on the East Coast and haven't really heard any first-hand accounts of what the cityscape was like after. Did rents / housing become cheaper? Was there mass out-migration? Etc.
