I would take a modern QT app over an electron app based purely on memory usage alone. It is no comparison from the potpourri of apps I have tried using both technologies. Yes QT is more work. But it's kind of like the old adage, you get what you pay for. Both platforms can be made to look ugly or pretty or inconsistent.
