This is what I set in my .vimrc today, and it seems to be working pretty well: if executable('rg') set grepprg=rg\ --no-heading\ --vimgrep set grepformat=%f:%l:%c:%m endif Then you can just :grep yourquery (or :grep yourquery path), and the results will show in a quickfix window.
