Maybe it helps to reword "this kind of evidence is unethical" as "taking action on this kind of evidence alone causes social harm"?
- contravariant 10y agoPerhaps, but building a list of all kinds of evidence insufficient to act on would take a lot of effort, and I fear it won't take away the underlying problems. Telling someone to ignore the fact that group X is Y% more likely to commit a crime is very unlikely to work (since purposely ignoring something is somewhat contradictory). You'd likely get better results by asking someone why they did something despite lacking sufficient evidence.
