If these people are planning on dedicating 50+ hours a week to this, then yes it's a waste of time. I doubt they will, though. Once these things are built, the product moves itself, especially off of a Kickstarter campaign went viral. No need to spend any more time on it once it's done - its just a resume builder and laughable revenue generator at that point.
