Yep. My several-years-old prosumer Nikon (D7000) has two slots and I can configure them either as mirrored for redundancy, overflow in case I misjudge how much storage I need, or I can use one for RAW and one for JPEG in case I need to show a preview before I get a chance to process the RAWs.
Typically I just have it set as mirrored since I only shoot occasionally as a hobbyist and a corrupted card is the most likely "fail state" I'd encounter.
- penguat 10y agoI use my second slot for JPG, reasoning that I can get good enough results out of a JPG if I desperately need it - and the cheaper, slower, bigger card I put in the backup slot will hold a couple of days' shooting as JPG and not slow the camera down.
