If you dislike both of them equally, and it doesn't matter to you who wins, and you vote a third party, the difference to you is the same... you just have less on your conscience now because you didn't contribute to a particular side -- and there's the slight, lotto-winning-odds chance that everyone else quietly did the same thing...
