The FAA, and the ATC are examples of the government doing their job of managing the commons extremely, extremely well. I've gotten (luckily) to fly on some not-tiny airplanes in my life, and gotten to sit with the pilot for the flights. Every single time, I leave impressed at the efficiency of the ATC moving all of these things around cities, in and out of airports, etc.
