Twitter's huge value is the ability to follow without needing a follow back (friend relationship). However they need to find a way to offer both short and long form content while doing this. It's crazy they haven't tried anything else yet. Perhaps there is an opportunity for communities to form naturally as well but again they haven't given this any thought. So many things they should be trying, its too bad. The concept is amazing but they are butchering it.
