Those are mild inconveniences — but how is it not better than what we have today? Today you can't use your laptop charger to charge anything but your laptop (you can pass through your laptop's USB, but that's another cable) and if you have a dead laptop and no laptop charger you're out of luck. With USB-C you can just carry around your laptop charger and use it to charge your phone if needed. If you forget your laptop charger you can borrow a USB-C cable from just about anyone (because they'll hopefully be universal), or spend like $10 on one if you're traveling.
