When headlines can't be answered "no," the most boring possible answer is correct.
- eyelidlessness 10y agoAnother addendum, because I've seen it done too often not to mention: If you're aware of Bettridge's law and craft your headline to take advantage of it, you're a total shitbag and you're not fooling anyone.
- rzzzt 10y agoBetteridge and De Morgan's joint law: A headline posed as a question with an OR operator can be rewritten as a statement with an AND operator.
- Pamar 10y agoI therefore suggest a corollary: "When Battridge's law does not apply, you can safely answer the headline with It depends".
