Finally, Github getting some Love!
Can't wait to switch to Projects and wave Goodbye Jira. I'm a happy dev today.
- joshmanders 10y agoIndeed, when GitLab announced Kanban I tried to migrate, but it just wasn't as great as GitHub, this is the nail in my foot that keeps me at GitHub.
- sytse 10y agoWhat can we improve in GitLab that would have convinced you to stay?
- joshmanders 10y agoHey styse! You guys are doing great, don't get me wrong, every time I try you guys out, leaps and bounds. My two biggest things right now are CI docs are very very sparse and hard to figure out as they are not similar to typical CI systems, at least the ones I used (primarily Travis). And the design is very unusual, it's hard to navigate around. For example on GitHub I can click my profile and boom, all repositories right there, on gitlab, i got to go through projects, groups and all this other stuff, it's just not straight forward.
- Nimimi 10y agoTake a look at Phabricator's project management and work board, too!
- moby 10y agoWe're happy that you're happy. :) Keep the feedback coming; we're listening!
- exception_e 10y agoI'm liking the recent design changes, however, I don't like the new implementation of contrib. activity... information overload!
- moby 10y agoAh, noted - so you'd like to have some customization on what you choose to show on your profile?
- exception_e 10y agoNo, I'm saying that the "contribution activity" timeline thing is leaning towards information overload (hard to follow; there is a lot to look at). I felt that the last implementation (which focused on the high-level activities that one could click into) made sense. I'm not a designer or anything so take my feedback with a grain of salt.
- moby 10y agoGot it - appreciate the feedback! We've been hearing some requests to provide flexibility over what's shown on the profile timeline, so your sentiments are being echoed. Thanks again!
