shopt -s histverify
- 0xmohit 10y agohistreedit is also pretty useful especially when a substitution fails. shopt -s histreedit If set, and readline is being used, a user is given the opportunity to re-edit a failed history substitution.
- gpvos 10y agoUntil you log in to a different machine where that isn't set in the .bashrc / .profile .
