- fnj 10y agoI habitually for a long time used to wait until the needle was all the way on E. I virtually always ran it way below 1/4. I am now at 190,000 miles, and have never had the slightest problem with the fuel system. My distance record was 798 miles. I was going for 800, but my nerve gave out after the low-fuel warning had been on for 50 miles.
