- marcus_holmes 10y agoyeah, my next phone will be an Android again. I've tried both ecosystems, and the iPhone world is just too locked-down and anal for me. Others will undoubtedly disagree, and that's a good thing. I'd be interested in how the costs work out for designing and manufacturing a phone. Are we near the point yet where we can get them built cheaply to spec? Are the parts commodity enough now that putting one together in the shed is do-able?
