$1 million is practically nothing as far as startup funding goes. Especially in the Bay Area. That's basically a year to find product market fit and raise another round.
No offense but you don't sound like you have enough experience to be commenting on our industry as a whole.
- bunkydoo 10y ago$1 million dollars used to be enough to buy the American Dream and have enough left over to send little Timmy to college. How 'bout them apples?
- w1ntermute 10y agoThat's a terrible comparison. The impact of $1 million dollars on a family and the impact of $1 million dollars on a seed-stage startup are totally different. Did you really work in the tech industry? It doesn't sound like you know what you're talking about.
- bunkydoo 10y agoCircuithub YC Winter'12 batch baby. I make more money at the post office duder.
- mifreewil 10y agoSeed rounds have certainly exploded over last few years.
- taytus 10y agoIn USA and in the rest of the world, $1 million dollars is a shit ton of money. Full stop. Please, let's go back to reality.
- 35bge57dtjku 10y agoNot when you need to pay people 100k/year. They aren't staffing a 7-11.
- cloudjacker 10y agoIn the part of the world OP was probably referring to, development companies are like staffing 7-11
- hueving 10y agoNot to any business that has to pay the salaries of 10+ people.
- rev_bird 10y agoIt's a shit ton of money for one person. For a business, especially a business without revenue, it seems like far less.
- Johnny555 10y agoWhy did this get voted down? A $1M funded startup is very early stage, and statistically not likely to succeed.
