The Three-Body Problem - Liu Cixin
My first introduction to non-western sci-fi. Intriguing concept and very good translation.
- navbaker 10y agoI'll second this, along with its follow up book. I read it close to a year ago and the description of the particle unfolding into higher dimensions has still stuck with me.
- captn3m0 10y agoMy only major complain with the book is that very often it uses particle physics as hand-wavy magic to break any rules it wishes to, and that breaks suspension of disbelief for me.
- navbaker 10y agoOh, I don't have any illusions about the physics being accurate! These type of books are very much an escape for me, so it doesn't bug me too much when authors take liberties with reality.
