It would be nice if open source projects (especially popular databases) came with k8s definition files so that you wouldn't have to write the yaml yourself.
- jondubois 10y agoI did that for my open source project SocketCluster. Also, if you look at the main Kubernetes repo on GitHub, you can find the yaml files for various popular open source projects in there as well. Some of them are out of date though - Things have been changing so fast. I think a problem that still comes up is that you still need yaml files to account for the interactions between different services too. Each service doesn't live in a vacuum. We're currently working on building an complete auto-scalable stack on top of Kubernetes and a deployment service to go with it.
