After all "it's the algorithms" is a very convenient excuse for Facebook that allows them to be a faceless entity beyond criticism. It is Facebook that decide which algorithm they use to censor content, and they have chosen a rather prude set of policies they think will avoid offending anyone in any culture, and are very quick to remove controversial content. This is something Facebook have chosen to do, and to little degree something that is enforced on them.
