Interesting. I grew up in Kalispell, went to college in Bozeman, and now live in Missoula. I would agree with some other people in the thread that Bozeman and Missoula seem like the 'cooler' cities, but I think the Mission and Flathead valleys take the cake when it comes to views and recreation. I mean, you cant beat the mountain views of the Missions and Swans with Flathead lake right in the middle. AND Glacier Park just to the north. But I'm biased I guess :).
