I would think it would be cheaper to have a network of work-from-home experts for each department. Put a kiosk robot that video chats to a real person who can drive the bot to walk with the person around the department and answer real questions like a person. Employees could server all stores at once like a call center. Eventually you can add automation to the process so that the easy questions are answered by code.

- protomyth 10y agoHa, but seriously you probably want someone with a bit more experience in remote system programming. I would think a person who plays with drones would be a good fit. Thinking about it, there must be someone on HN whose done the whole police robot thing. Don't get me wrong, I would love to do something like this, but for the time being I'm stuck were I am. Plus, I have a side thing going on myself that needs to get done. In truth though, there are better people than me who could make this a success.
