It has the Start menu vertically on the left side, just I kept mine in Windows. It has the same keyboard shortcuts for starting pinned programs, and the dash is just a better implementation of the Windows 7 start menu's search field. Then it adds its own twist, allowing you to search menus with alt. I loved it. I suppose the fact that the menu is at the top is like OSX, but because programs close when all windows are closed, it doesn't annoy me like it does on macs.
