Have a look at Netlify (https://www.netlify.com https://www.netlify.com) - our free tier is like GitHub pages on steroids including HTTPS for custom domains (and deploy previews, use any build tool not just Jekyll, redirect rules, etc...).

- leftnode 10y agoWe have a Metalsmith static site that requires "npm build" to build and Netlify seemed to figure it out automatically. Pulls directly from GitHub, built, deployed, SSL with LetsEncrypt. All for free. Very nice service.
- citruspi 10y agoGitHub Pages only supports building sites with Jekyll[0].
