I only go to work for a pay check! I wouldn't be doing what I do if I was financially independent. I stopped working more than 40 hours after 3 months of 65-75 hour weeks and realizing I wasn't getting squat for it. Other people were getting paid the same I was and they weren't doing the extra hours. So I stopped. Why put in the extra effort if it isn't paying out? Don't get me wrong. I am not doing sub-par work. I just don't do extra unless I am paid for it. Saying people aren't motivated by money is fallacy, IMO
