I'm from Pittsburgh and I think it's a really nice city. But I doubt I will move back, the weather sucks. And, less of a concern, but PA is generally an unlovely part of the country in my opinion. I could barely believe my eyes when I saw Oregon and northern CA.

I could barely believe my eyes when I saw Oregon and northern CA. I'll disagree with you there. I think Western PA is quite beautiful in the late spring, summer and early autumn. My reaction to Northern Ireland was "It's pretty, but going up US-22 through the Applachian Plateau is prettier--especially around Cresson." The problem is that the winter is just awful.
