The OpenBSD project has OpenSMTPd, it's C of course, but it was initially released in 2013 so it's still fresh. The codebase has been audited by Qualys recently, so its security has been verified (and detected issues fixed). Of course, I'd still rather have something written in e.g. Go than C.
