I commute 4 hours a day. I do it because what baffles me is how people can live in a city. I grew up in SF, and moved out ever since college. The thought of living in the city horrifies me. The people, the crowdedness, the lack of open space, etc... I sooner quit my job and take a pay cut than move back to SF. Personally I enjoy my 4 hour commute, 2 of which I spend on the ferry taking a nap or working, and I prefer it over living in the city. Not a lot of people understands or agrees with me, but that's fine.
