Clicked on this expecting to see another millennial self entitled "why I left" rant, but found a well written, horrifying article on deception and underhanded shenanigans.
The CEO of this startup qualifies be listed under the other discussion on here about psychopaths running companies.
- sanderjd 10y agoOdd, I've never come across a rant like that. But I do seem to see self satisfied "millennial" bashing pretty often. (I don't think I'll ever understand this impulse to ascribe vague personality traits to broad groups of people across a large number of birth years.)
- cyberferret 10y agoApologies, it was probably a little too judgemental and unnecessarily tarred a lot of people with a wide brush, but there was a phase about 12 months ago where Medium was full of posts, to paraphrase what someone else said: "By unknown twenty-something year olds posting angst driven articles about leaving some unknown valley startup as if they were Jimmy Page leaving Led Zeppelin"...
- barry-cotter 10y agoYou're not helping yourself. Your first post made you sound judgmental and ageist and this one is more of the same.
- jsprogrammer 10y agoCould you please link to one of those posts so that we may read one?

- ryguytilidie 10y agoIt's weird, because the person said "another one of those..." The Talia Jane article came to mind but I'm quite sure there aren't others. Seems kind of weird to imply this happens all the time when its happened exactly once.
- jsprogrammer 10y agoThat would be a categorical error as Talia did not leave Yelp.

- bendbro 10y agoI'd imagine it has something to do with having eyes, ears and a brain
- sanderjd 10y agoI'm sorry, what? I think you're probably trying to say I'm wrong in some offensive way, but I have no idea what you're talking about.
- pcwalton 10y ago> well written, horrifying article on deception and underhanded shenanigans In this case, the phrase "criminal acts" seems more appropriate.
