Why it is next gen framework? I can't see it different from angularjs or something angularjs like framework.
- solkimicreb 10y agoBiggest differences are: - The ease you can get started with it. Just include the script and use it (no config and bootstrapping). - The middleware system, which makes it easily extendable and configurable. Something like Express or Koa on the server side for Node. - The use of ES6 Proxies for data binding (can be used with getters/setters, inhertied and expando props). - Probably speed, but I do not have any trustable benchmarks yet. - The use of many simple new native APIs, which makes understanding the code itself and contributing to it easier in my opinion.
- eibrahim 10y agoI feel like ember JS has all these features. Or am I wrong? Sure it uses a transformer but gives you the same features.
- akst 10y agoYeah it does sound quite a bit like Ember.js but without the tooling, which IMO is one of the best parts of ember
- solkimicreb 10y agoI don't know much about Ember, so I don't want to compare it with NX here. I just submitted an NX todoMVC: https://github.com/tastejs/todomvc/pull/1679/files https://github.com/tastejs/todomvc/pull/1679/files. If you would like to, you can compare it with the Ember one: https://github.com/tastejs/todomvc/tree/master/examples/emberjs https://github.com/tastejs/todomvc/tree/master/examples/embe.... Side note: since it seems like comparisons are requested, I plan to implement the official show off/introduction apps of other frameworks in NX as a way of objective comparison.
- akst 10y ago"Probably speed", doesn't sound convincing... You say there are no benchmarks, but what are you suggesting this out performs?
- solkimicreb 10y agoReply to all: I don't want to officially compare NX with any other framework (performance or feature wise). I think this should be left to somebody independent if it is needed in the future. I just wrote that comment for the request form the top of my head, but it is no way official. I think that if you would really like to know the differences you should try out some of the examples in the docs and decide for yourself.
