Ah, the ol' free markets angle. So then, what would prevent any company with sufficient capital from monopolizing, well, everything? And what would be the reward for doing research? If another company can steal the research (and not pay for it), then they would have an inherent advantage in lower cost of production (because they don't have to pay people to come up with stuff).
