GitLab 8.11.2 released

  The progress GitLab is making is great but lately it feels like HN frontpage is a GitLab release announcement page. It would make much more sense to see announcement on HN about some very useful or ground breaking changes instead of links to every single changelog.

    Right, major versions with new features are one thing, a "we fixed a few bugs in the major release we did 3 days ago" release on the other hand don't seem very important. If you use it you'll get notified through other channels, if you don't you probably don't care

    I remember when people complained Slashdot was a WINE release announcement site. How times have changed.

    Although I'm grateful that dwaxe is a fan of GitLab I agree that this is not frontpage worthy.
