Ruby on Rails Tutorial Chapter 9 (Updating, showing, and deleting users) is out
- wqfeng 17y agoGreat job! I like the chapter 2 very much. The explanation to git/github and deploying it to Heroku is great. What I would like to see are: 1. Explanation to the main concepts of dynamic web application. Something like this:http://philip.greenspun.com/seia/basics http://philip.greenspun.com/seia/basics 2. Make the example to a considerable complexity. And show it at the very beginning. I consider it a tutorial on how to develop a web app more than a rails tutorial.
- mhartl 17y agoA new chapter consisting of a high-level overview of webapp development is in the works. I consider it a tutorial on how to develop a web app more than a rails tutorial. I consider this a compliment. :-)
- marknutter 17y agoWoops.. I read this as "Updating, showing, and deleting users is out." I was thinking, "what the heck did they replace them with?
- mhartl 17y agoOriginally the chapter title was in quotes, but the link title was 81 characters long, and HN has an 80-character maximum. I axed the quote marks; maybe I should have axed "is out" instead. :-)
- marknutter 17y agoI think my brain connected the wrong dots because I saw a blurb about the Rails 3.0 2nd beta being released today :)
