Yeah maybe it doesn't all apply directly to your situation, particularly if you care a lot about building a CV. The post is largely about accurately assessing the risks though which I think is the important point - and it's going to be tricky to optimize for happiness/career/potential/security simoultanously. That being said, no one will care if you're 20 or 30 when you drop out of college and bootstrap your own startup :-)
