Why should Apple researchers contribute back to the AI community on their shareholders' dime? What makes AI special as opposed to any other field of computer science?
- oblio 10y agoThe long term goal is loftier than almost all others except for extending human life and populating other star systems.
- mwfunk 10y agoThat's an opinion. I don't think you could get a random group of 3 AI researchers to agree on what the long term goal is, or if there even is a long term goal as opposed to this simply being a very buzzword- and marketing-friendly area of research at the moment.
