HP hit with age-discrimination suit claiming older workers purged
- flagelate 10y agoWasted effort. Back in 1996 IBM did the exact same, laying off workers 50 and older in mass. A class action law suit was filed going all the way to the Supreme Court which ruled in IBM's favor sighting as long as all those age 50 years and over were being treated the same it was not age discrimination. The Fortune 2000 have been doing it ever since. Once kicked to the curb, most corporations won't hire them either for the same reasons unless they have very special skills.
