As far as I know the Nissan GTR is the fastest production car in the world with 0 to 60 in 2.7s. Tesla with the ludicrous is only 3.0s. I could be wrong.

- modoc 10y agoIf you read the linked press release they are expecting/claiming a 2.5 second 0-60 time.
- maxerickson 10y agoIt looks like your post was the first of the nine direct replies (so far) saying more or less the same thing.
- maxerickson 10y agoThey expect the upgrade they announced today (described in more detail at the link) to bring the Model S down to 2.5 seconds.

- zeroxfe 10y agoYou're thinking of the Model X. The Model S with ludicrous is 2.5s.
- anamexis 10y agoThe article notes in the first sentence that the Model P100D can do 0 to 60 in 2.5s.
- kylec 10y agoYou are wrong https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_production_cars_by_acceleration https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_production_car...
- serge2k 10y ago> Tesla Model Truck P100D w/Ludicrous Speed Upgrade Someone was too eager to edit the wiki page. oh look, the model is better than a second slower on the 1/4 mile than the Ferrari/Porsche. Slower than the Audi R8 V10 too.
- ryguytilidie 10y agoJust to be clear, its 2016 and you're snarkily attempting to put down an electric car that costs ~100k and does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds because its a second slower on the quarter mile than a Ferrari that costs >10x as much and isn't electric? sigh.
- skykooler 10y agoThat was before this announcement; the new P100D is 2.5s.
- ricardobeat 10y agoThis is a new 100kWh battery pack, literally the first sentence says it does 0-60 in 2.5s.
- philipov 10y ago> The Model S P100D with Ludicrous mode is the third fastest accelerating production car ever produced, with a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds. However, both the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder were limited run, million dollar vehicles and cannot be bought new.
- hundchenkatze 10y agoAccording to the this post, Tesla is claiming 2.5s.
