- userbinator 10y agoWhat happens when Firefox makes this change too? Will you move to IE or Opera? Then what if those also follow? I elaborated more on the fallacy of "switching to another browser" more than 2 years ago, and it's still as relevant as ever: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7678583 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7678583
- Narishma 10y agoFirefox has handled this correctly for ages. The Windows version defaults to Backspace to go back, I guess for compatibility with IE, and the Linux version doesn't. But in either case it's possible to change the behavior of the Backspace key in the options.
- userbinator 10y agoFirefox has removed options before, but this seems to be one of the options they haven't removed: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.backspace_action http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.backspace_action I do wish it was more exposed though, given how many want the non-default behaviour.
